The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship by Arthur Ransome
When the Czar of the land issues a proclamation that says whoever brings him a flying ship can marry his daughter three peasant brothers set out to compete in hopes of winning the daughter. One of them is the fool of the world and even his own parents and two brothers do not think he is capable of accomplishing this task. This does not influence the fool of the world, but rather he sets out cheerfully to accomplish the task with no support from his family. He is able to do what seems the impossible with help from an unlikely source and showing kindness to everyone he meets on his path.

I love your take on "The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship." I have always loved that book as it is fairy tale themed and I love fairy tales. Have you seen the Robin Williams' version of this tale before?
